Power Out?

Due to the fact that we manage and maintain over 18,532 km of overground and cable electric lines, we cannot fully prevent electric outages. However, we promise to get the network back up and running normally in the shortest time possible.

What to do in case of a power outage?

You can find the information about current and planned electricity outages below. If your area is not listed in the current outages on the map or on the list of planned outages, we suggest that you call us and report the failure on the grid/your metering point.

This map is merely for informative purposes and shows the condition of outdoor energy installations at the medium voltage level with a certain time lapse. Just because an installation is labeled as voltage-free it does not necessarily mean that there is no electric power supply for all customers connected to that installation. Elektro Ljubljana is not responsible for any activities or their consequences that were carried out by a customer on the basis of information obtained from the interactive map.

What to do in the event of a power outage?

We are very aware that power outages pose a severe inconvenience for users, but it is impossible to avoid them completely, not matter how strongly and efficiently we build and maintain our network. But there are things you can do before contacting us in this situation:

  • Check whether neighbors are also experiencing electricity outlet or whether public lightning is working.
  • Check your fuse box to see if you have blown a fuse. In that case change the fuse or flip the switch back to ON position.
  • Check whether the FID switch is off, in which case you can switch it back on by pressing the button.
  • Check network conditions on the map below showing ongoing and upcoming deactivations.

If your problem is not listed above you can reach us at 01 230 40 02 and we will try to solve the problem as soon as possible.

Useful advice in the event of power outage:

  • Turn off sensitive electronic devices (TV, computers, etc.).
  • Turn off all devices that might cause danger without supervision (stove, iron, hair dryers, etc.).
  • Leave one of the lights on to see when the electricity is back on.
  • Avoid opening the refrigerator or freezer, since every time you open the door the amount of time that food stays cold will drastically drop.
  • Reduce your use of laptops and phones to avoid draining the battery, since you might need it later.
  • If you have vulnerable pets in an aquarium or terrarium take appropriate care of them.
  • When the electricity is back on turn devices on one at the time.
  • Right after the power outage we suggest avoiding the use of elevators.
